ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY, THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SANITATION UNIT IN COLLABORATION WITH NADMO, UNIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS, ZOOMLION GHANA LIMITED, TRADITIONAL AUTHORITIES, AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS, ORGANIZED CLEAN-UP EXERCISES WITHIN SELECTED COMMUNITIES TO IMPROVE SANITATION AND PROMOTE PUBLIC HEALTH

COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP EXERCISES – ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On 19th July 2024, a clean-up exercise was carried out at Ataasi Nkwanta Community between 6:00am and 12:00pm. The exercise involved community members working together to clean their environment, with emphasis on improving hygiene and reducing environmental hazards. Activities undertaken included sweeping, clearing refuse, and general sanitation improvement within the community.

In addition, as part of activities marking the Otumfuo Anniversary, another major clean-up exercise was held on 20th June 2024 at New Edubiase–Petenyinase. This exercise was organized in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Honorable Assembly Members, traditional leaders, residents, and students of St. Andrews Senior High School.

Key activities during the exercise included the desilting of choked gutters and the removal of accumulated sand along the shoulders of the main road. The initiative aimed at improving drainage, enhancing environmental cleanliness, and promoting community participation in sanitation management.

The Adansi South District Assembly commended all stakeholders and community members for their active participation and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting regular clean-up exercises to ensure a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment across the district.
