CLEAN-UP EXERCISE AT NEW EDUBIASE – GCB

The Adansi South Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), in collaboration with the District Environmental Health Department, organized a clean-up exercise at New Edubiase to promote environmental sanitation and prevent flooding during the rainy season.

The exercise focused on desilting the main drains in front of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), an area prone to water stagnation and blockage. The activity aimed at improving the free flow of water and reducing the risk of flooding in the township.

Staff from NADMO, Environmental Health Officers, and community members actively participated in the exercise, demonstrating a shared commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Residents and traders in the area were also educated on the need to avoid indiscriminate dumping of waste into drains, as such practices contribute to flooding and other environmental hazards.

The Directorate emphasized that regular clean-up activities are essential, especially during the rainy season, to safeguard lives, property, and public health.

The Adansi South NADMO Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders to promote environmental cleanliness and disaster prevention across the district.
