On Thursday, 15th May,2025, the Adansi South District Assembly held a historic commencement ceremony to confirm the president’s nominee for District Chief Executive [DCE] and inaugurate thirteen [13] new government appointees. The thirteen appointees, opted for by the president of the Republic of Ghana, were sworn in to complement the thirty [30] elected assembly members.
The swearing-in was conducted by Your Worship Eunice, Magistrate of the Adansi South District Court, who administered both the Oath of Office and the Oath of Secrecy. In her remarks, the magistrate highlighted the relevance of integrity, confidentiality and service in the local governance.
The Adansi South District Assembly after the swearing-in, then carried on the confirmation of the president’s nominee for District Chief Executive, Mr. Oheneba Kwabena Andoh. The presiding member, Hon. Amoah Darkwa Cosmos before the voting, urged the assembly members to seek the interest of the district first and throw their full support to the president’s nominee. The assembly members and the government appointee’s confirmation votes gave unanimous 42 ‘Yes’ and no rejection, securing Mr. Oheneba Kwabena Andoh a 100% endorsement.
Mr. Oheneba Andoh, in delivering his acceptance speech, expressed his appreciation to the president of the Republic of Ghana for his nomination and to the assembly members for their unprecedented massive endorsement. He emphasized that, he would work with all humility, honesty, diligence and open-door style of leadership which would create an atmosphere of inclusiveness in building the district. He further mentioned his commitment in improving infrastructure, sanitation, education, healthcare and job creation.
The occasion saw several dignitaries including the Member of Parliament for Adansi South, formal DCE’S, traditional authorities, head of departments, officials from various government agencies and members of the media.
