Adansi South District Assembly Inspects Ongoing Construction of CHPS Compound and Nurses’ Quarters at Nkrankese (ONGOING)

NKRANKESE, GHANA — The Adansi South District Assembly has conducted a project monitoring and inspection tour to review the ongoing construction of a 1-No. CHPS Compound and a 1-No. 3-Unit Nurses’ Quarters at Nkrankese.
The development forms part of the Assembly’s strategic effort to strengthen primary healthcare delivery, reduce travel distances for medical care, and ensure skilled health personnel are comfortably accommodated within rural communities.
Project Details & Scope

CHPS Compound Facility: Designed to deliver essential primary healthcare, outpatient services, maternal and child health services, and disease prevention programs.

3-Unit Nurses’ Quarters: A dedicated residential block providing safe, modern living quarters for three health officers to ensure round-the-clock medical availability in the community.

Current Progress: Construction is actively ongoing, with civil works and structural developments progressing according to scheduled project phases and technical standards.
Improving Rural Healthcare Access
Assembly representatives highlighted that pairing healthcare facilities with staff accommodation is vital for retaining qualified personnel in rural postings. Once completed, the Nkrankese CHPS Compound will significantly relieve pressure on neighboring facilities and improve emergency response times for residents.
The Assembly praised the community leaders of Nkrankese for their cooperation and instructed the project contractors to maintain high structural standards to ensure long-term serviceability.
