MONITORING OF TRANSPLANTED OIL PALM FIELDS AT ADANSI BOSU
A monitoring exercise was carried out at Adansi Bosu in the Adansi South District to assess the condition and progress of a four-year-old oil palm plantation.
The Agriculture Department conducted the visit to evaluate the growth performance of transplanted oil palm fields and to provide technical guidance to improve plantation management. The team inspected field conditions, including plant spacing, weed control practices, and overall crop health.
Findings from the visit indicated that the plantation is at a critical growth stage requiring consistent field maintenance to maximize future yields. Farmers and farm attendants were advised on proper agronomic practices such as regular weeding, timely application of fertilizers, pest and disease monitoring, and appropriate pruning techniques.
The exercise also provided an opportunity to address challenges affecting plantation management and to encourage best practices for sustainable oil palm production.
The Agriculture Department reaffirmed its commitment to continuous field monitoring and technical support to ensure improved productivity and long-term economic benefits for farmers in Adansi Bosu and surrounding communities.
