SOIL SAMPLING EXERCISE CONDUCTED AT THREE BENEFICIARY COMMUNITIES UNDER GLRSSMP
The Adansi South District Agriculture Department has conducted a soil sampling exercise at three beneficiary communities under the Ghana Landscape Restoration and Small-Scale Mining Project (GLRSSMP).
The exercise involved the collection of soil samples to assess soil carbon content and overall soil health, as part of efforts to promote sustainable land management and environmental restoration within the district.
The selected communities were visited by technical officers who carefully collected soil samples from designated farmlands for laboratory analysis. The results are expected to provide valuable data to guide improved agricultural practices and land restoration interventions.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts under the GLRSSMP to enhance soil fertility, restore degraded lands, and promote climate-smart agriculture among beneficiary farmers.
Farmers in the affected communities were educated on the importance of maintaining soil health through sustainable farming practices such as composting, reduced chemical use, and proper land management techniques.
The Adansi South District Agriculture Department remains committed to supporting farmers with scientific data and technical guidance to improve productivity while protecting the environment.
