NADMO ENGAGES NYAMEBEKYERE AND BRONIKROM COMMUNITIES ON DISASTER PREVENTION
The Adansi South Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), in collaboration with the Adansi South District Assembly, has conducted a community sensitisation exercise at Nyamebekyere and Bronikrom to educate residents on disaster prevention and management.
The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to reduce the impact of disasters and promote safety awareness at the community level. Residents, including opinion leaders and youth, were taken through key issues such as fire safety, flood prevention, environmental sanitation, and emergency response measures.
Officials from NADMO educated participants on common causes of disasters within the district and practical steps to prevent them. Emphasis was placed on avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse, proper handling of electrical appliances, and safe farming and burning practices.
The team also highlighted the importance of early reporting of disaster incidents and encouraged residents to cooperate with relevant authorities during emergencies. Community members were urged to remain vigilant and support efforts aimed at protecting lives and property.
The interactive session allowed residents to ask questions and share their concerns, fostering a better understanding of disaster-related issues and strengthening collaboration between NADMO and the communities.
The Adansi South NADMO Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to continuous public education and community engagement to build a disaster-resilient district.
