MONTHLY CLEAN-UP EXERCISES – ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the Adansi South District Assembly, in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the Sanitation Committee initiated by the New Edubiase Traditional Council, Honorable Assembly Members, and Unit Committee Members, organized monthly clean-up exercises within the New Edubiase Area Council.

The clean-up exercise is held every first Friday of the month as part of sustained efforts to improve environmental sanitation and promote healthy living conditions within communities.

During the third quarter, the exercise was conducted on 5th July, 2nd August, and 6th September 2024 at New Edubiase–Asamanya, Aburaso, and Old Asaman respectively. The activities focused on improving cleanliness and environmental hygiene within these communities.

Key activities undertaken included sweeping of public spaces, desilting of choked gutters, clearing of refuse dumps, and removal of accumulated waste along community roads and surroundings.

The initiative aimed to enhance sanitation conditions, reduce environmental health risks, and encourage community ownership of cleanliness efforts.

The Adansi South District Assembly commended the collaboration among stakeholders and community members and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining regular clean-up exercises to promote a cleaner and healthier environment across the district.
