Adansi South District Assembly Inspects Ongoing Construction of CHPS Compound and Nurses’ Quarters at Tonkoase
TONKOASE, GHANA — The Adansi South District Assembly has undertaken a monitoring and inspection visit to assess progress on the ongoing construction of a 1-No. CHPS Compound alongside a 1-No. 3-Unit Nurses’ Quarters at Tonkoase.
This dual-project initiative aligns with the Assembly’s vision to decentralize primary healthcare services and bridge the accessibility gap for basic medical care across rural farming communities in the district.
Project Scope & Deliverables

CHPS Compound Facility: A dedicated health post structured to offer maternal care, child immunizations, outpatient consultations, and basic health education.

3-Unit Nurses’ Quarters: On-site residential accommodation designed for three health workers to ensure continuous, 24/7 emergency medical coverage for local residents.

Current Status: Works are actively ongoing, with focus on structural masonry and steady progression through the core phases of construction.
Strengthening Community Healthcare
Speaking during the site tour, Assembly officials underscored the importance of securing decent housing alongside medical facilities to attract and retain dedicated healthcare personnel in remote areas. The completion of the Tonkoase complex will drastically cut down travel time for urgent health interventions.
The Assembly commended the leadership and residents of Tonkoase for supporting the construction team and urged the contractor to maintain quality control standards throughout the build.
