New Edubiase, Ashanti Region – In a major spatial decongestion drive to restore spatial order, clear unauthorized structures, and ensure public safety, the Adansi South District Assembly successfully executed a two-day evacuation and demolition exercise across four major zones within the district.
The exercise took place on Thursday, 19th June and Friday, 20th June 2026.
The targeted operations focused on removing illegally placed shipping containers, makeshift kiosks, and unauthorized structures at the following designated locations:

Sakasaka Park

Aburaso
-
Presby Top
-
Old Asaman
The exercise was spearheaded by the Assembly’s Taskforce, in coordination with the Physical Planning Department, the Environmental Health Unit, and local law enforcement. The operation follows the expiration of final removal notices previously served to owners of the affected structures, who had encroached upon public roads, reserve areas, and drainage pathways.
The Adansi South District Assembly emphasizes that the proliferation of unauthorized containers in these specific zones had begun to significantly compromise community security, block crucial waterways, and restrict free vehicular and pedestrian movement.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) and management of the Assembly commend the general public and compliant property owners for their maximum cooperation during the two-day operation.
The Assembly firmly warns the general public that any attempt to reoccupy the cleared sites at Sakasaka Park, Aburaso, Presby Top, and Old Asaman with unauthorized structures will result in immediate confiscation and legal prosecution. Moving forward, the Assembly will strictly enforce zoning regulations and municipal bye-laws to ensure that Adansi South remains orderly, safe, and well-planned for all residents.
