MONITORING REPORT ON COMMUNITY CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE (CCPC) ACTIVITIES – KAWOTRIHWE
The Adansi South District Department of Social Welfare and Community Development has undertaken a monitoring exercise on the activities of the Community Child Protection Committee (CCPC) at Kawotrihwe as part of efforts to strengthen child protection systems within the district.
The objective of the exercise was to assess the performance of the CCPC in promoting and safeguarding the rights and welfare of children in the community in line with national child protection guidelines.
The monitoring revealed that the CCPC at Kawotrihwe has been actively involved in community sensitisation on child protection issues, identification of vulnerable children, reporting of child abuse cases, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders including schools, traditional authorities, and Social Welfare officers.
The Committee has also supported the education of parents and guardians on the importance of proper childcare, discipline, school attendance, and the prevention of child neglect, abuse, and exploitation.
Despite these positive efforts, some challenges were identified, including limited logistics and resource constraints, which affect the timely execution of some activities and reporting processes.
The Department recommends continuous training, logistical support, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of the CCPC in fulfilling its mandate.
The Adansi South District Department of Social Welfare and Community Development remains committed to supporting community-based child protection structures to ensure the safety, development, and well-being of all children within the district.
