ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT OFFICE CARRIED OUT A SERIES OF EDUCATION AND SENSITIZATION PROGRAMMES IN THE COMMUNITIES OF ATWEREBOANA, OBONSU, AND FONYA AS PART OF ITS ONGOING EFFORTS TO PROMOTE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

DISASTER EDUCATION AND SENSITIZATION AT ATWEREBOANA, OBONSU, AND FONYA – NADMO, ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Adansi South District Office, carried out a series of education and sensitization programmes in the communities of Atwereboana, Obonsu, and Fonya as part of its ongoing efforts to promote disaster risk reduction.

The outreach focused on raising awareness about common disasters, particularly domestic fires, bush fires, and other environmental hazards. Community members were educated on the causes, effects, and preventive measures needed to reduce the occurrence of such incidents.

Participants were also taken through practical safety measures, including proper handling of fire sources, safe farming practices during the dry season, and the importance of early response in emergency situations.

The engagements provided a platform for interaction between NADMO officials and community members, allowing concerns to be addressed and knowledge to be shared on improving safety and preparedness.

NADMO emphasized the need for collective responsibility in preventing disasters and encouraged residents to adopt safer practices to protect lives, property, and the environment.

The Adansi South District Office reaffirmed its commitment to continuous public education and community engagement to build resilient communities across the district.
