MONITORING OF 3-YEAR-OLD OIL PALM PLANTATION AT ADANSI BOSU
A monitoring exercise was conducted at Adansi Bosu in the Adansi South District to assess a three-year-old transplanted oil palm plantation.
The visit, undertaken by officers from the Agriculture Department, focused on evaluating the growth stage, field establishment, and general management practices of the plantation. The team inspected plant health, spacing, weed control, and signs of pest or disease infestation.
The plantation, now at a key developmental stage, requires consistent maintenance to ensure optimal growth and future productivity. Farmers and field attendants were advised to intensify field management practices, including regular weeding, proper fertilizer application, and routine monitoring for pests and diseases.
Technical guidance was also provided on best agronomic practices to improve yield potential and ensure long-term sustainability of the plantation.
The Agriculture Department reaffirmed its commitment to continuous monitoring and extension support to promote efficient oil palm production and enhance livelihoods in Adansi Bosu and surrounding communities.
