PPRS OFFICER INSPECTS AGRO-CHEMICAL SHOPS IN ADANSI SOUTH DISTRICT
The Adansi South District Agriculture Department has undertaken a regulatory inspection exercise led by the Plant Protection and Regulatory Services (PPRS) Officer within the district.
The exercise focused on inspecting agro-chemical shops operating within the Adansi South District, with the aim of ensuring compliance with agricultural safety standards and regulations governing the sale and use of agro-chemicals.
During the inspection, the PPRS Officer assessed the types of chemicals on sale, storage conditions, labeling, and expiration dates to ensure that approved and safe products are made available to farmers. Shop operators were also engaged on proper handling, safe storage, and responsible usage of agro-chemicals to protect both human health and the environment.
Farmers and traders were further educated on the importance of purchasing only certified and approved agro-chemicals from licensed dealers to enhance crop production and prevent harmful effects on soil and water bodies.
The Department emphasized that regular inspections are essential in promoting safe agricultural practices, protecting consumers, and improving food safety standards within the district.
