DISTRICT PFJ 2.0 DURBAR AT ATAASE NKWANTA
A district-level Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ 2.0) durbar was held at Ataase Nkwanta in the Adansi South District, bringing together farmers, agricultural officers, and key stakeholders. The event was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the District Director of Agriculture (DDA), among other officials.
The durbar served as a platform to sensitize farmers on the objectives and implementation modalities of PFJ 2.0, which seeks to enhance food security, improve agricultural productivity, and strengthen value chain development through improved input access and extension support.
In his address, the DCE encouraged farmers to actively participate in the programme and take advantage of the government’s support systems to increase production and ensure household and national food security. The DDA also outlined key components of PFJ 2.0, emphasizing the importance of adopting improved seeds, proper fertilizer use, and modern farming practices.
Farmers were given the opportunity to ask questions and share their concerns, which were addressed by the technical team. The engagement strengthened collaboration between farmers and agricultural institutions in the district.
The durbar reaffirmed the commitment of the Adansi South District Assembly to supporting agricultural transformation and improving livelihoods through effective implementation of PFJ 2.0 in communities such as Ataase Nkwanta.
