A national team conducted a verification exercise at Aworoso in the Adansi South District to assess beneficiary farmers under the Ghana Landscape Restoration and Small-Scale Mining Project (GLRSSMP).
The exercise formed part of monitoring and accountability measures to ensure that project beneficiaries are correctly identified and actively participating in the implementation of sustainable livelihood and land restoration activities. The team reviewed beneficiary records, visited farm sites, and engaged farmers to confirm their involvement and progress under the project.
The verification also focused on ensuring transparency in project implementation and assessing the impact of interventions aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental restoration, and alternative livelihoods in communities affected by small-scale mining activities.
Farmers at Aworoso expressed appreciation for the support received under the project and reiterated their commitment to adopting environmentally friendly practices to improve productivity and restore degraded lands.
The national team reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the GLRSSMP achieves its objectives of restoring degraded landscapes, improving rural livelihoods, and promoting sustainable development in beneficiary communities.
